My original "brick" cellphone was AT&T. One day I received a bill in excess of $3,000. I called to explain how it was physically impossible for me to use my phone that much because I actually did sleep some hours of the day and work too. I also explained that the minute total was more than the actual minutes that occur in a month. The support rep told me I was responsible for the bill (even after the math lesson). At that point, I said I would never go back to AT&T.
Fast forward 10 years or so. I own several Apple Products now (Mac Mini, MacBook Air, Shuffles, Nanos, etc.). I picked up an iPod Touch and I really loved it. The interface is smooth and beautiful. There are tons and tons (and tons) of apps for it. It really works well. I thought about getting the iPhone, but there was one problem: iPhone is married to AT&T. I also was thinking about app development and I played with both developing for iPhone and Blackberry (simulators). The Apple SDK is years ahead of BlackBerry. Apple's iPhone has OpenGL and OpenAL. BlackBerry has a graphics library that is antiquated, and pretty much no sound library. BlackBerry is definitely more of a communication device while iPhone is more of an entertainment device.
In the end I picked up the BlackBerry Tour. The Apple App Store is flooded with applications. There are several apps for just fart sounds. I noticed BlackBerry was lacking in apps, and I saw an opportunity there. Also, distribution for the BlackBerry is simple, you just put 2 files on a webserver and you're good to go!
I want to show everyone you can have business and beauty on the same device.
